Bengal and Jharkhand advanced to the all-India women`s inter-zonal cricket championship by virtue of emerging champions and runners-up respectively in the East Zone two-day league which concluded at Cuttack today.
Bengal topped the table with 24 points after ending their last league matchin a draw against Orissa, who finished third with 17 points.
Jharkhand crushed Sikkimg by an innings and 113 runs to secure six points in another last-round match. These six points helped Jharkhand overtake Orissa and finish second in the zone with 19 points.
The league clash between Assam and Tripura also ended in a draw.
